Ever since Noah arrived I have taken a serious interest in making things. Lucky for me I am surrounded in talented and inspirational people who want to create as a group, learn from one another, and share individual talents. My girlfriend told me the other day she has never made a quilt before and doesn't think she has the patience. So when I host "Not your mama's craft night"we are going to be making Doll quilts. Quick, handmade, and full of personality. They are so cute when you join a group of them together hanging above a bed, kitchen table, your living room couch, or covering an entire wall.

That will be fun! When are yout teaching that? Maybe i will be down there when you do it. Hopefully you can get some of these girls interested in making quilts, that's how i started and i love doing it now!
That's really cute!
I have talked with friends before about the phenomenon of, after you have kids, wanting to make things -- we decided it's because so much of what you do as a Mom is constantly undone, it's nice to have *something* concrete and lasting to show for your time.
I've also noticed that a lot of women lose interest in sewing and crafts when they're kids get older, which kind of depresses me since I look forward to having more time for sewing and don't want to lose interst before then.
Chels those pics of that quilt are darling! You are so talented! I wish I lived closer and I would hire you to teach me! How are the Booths doing by the way?
cute cute blanket! I wish I was down there to join your lil' craft night, looks like fun!
Have you heard of Etsy.com? It's a website where you can buy and sell handmade things. You should definitely participate there!
On the other hand, I really think you should post a few HOW TOs of the things you make or at least a link to the places you figure out how do this great things.
I'd love to learn how to do what you do! Please, enlighten us on your creative ways!
Wow, Chelsea-I'm so impressed. You and Carli are so good sewing-and many other things! I would love to learn how to do that, if only I could figure out how to thread my old hand-me-down machine!
You are mucho talented! I will have to come down to one of these craft nights and impress everyone with my skills j/k =). Seriously though, I love seeing all the things you can make.
You never cease to amaze me! That quilt is BEAUTIFUL! I love all the colorful fabrics you put together! Very chic! Again, I soooo wish I lived closer to you so your skillz might rub a little off on me! Mostly I'd just steal all your ideas!
I wanna learn!!! Do you already have to know what you're doing to go to a class like that?? I don't know much about quilting except that it looks difficult:) But makes some super cute stuff!!
Sariah... I wish I made this quilt! the picture is what someone else made and what we will be making! I also love the colors! I am working on one of my own and will post pictures when I am done!
i think it is awesome and unusual that you have been able to do so much after having a baby. keep on keepin on girlfriend. the rest of us will continue to struggle to find 30 minutes to exercise and make dinner :)
Can you please move back already so we can do "not your mama's craft night" here and teach me the ropes? I still need updates on how to make those shirts. I'm desperate, they are adorable. I need them!
LOVE your fabric choices. You're so darn talented. I only wish I had the same patience and talent to create what you do! Keep it up! You are the one who inspires!
