I went to Salvation army yesterday and found out that it's my new favorite store for finding old ugly things and making them over! I found this shadow box for $7.00 filled with a horribly ugly lighthouse, fake seagulls, and rocks (Which I had Dave tear out) but I knew it had potential.

And now it holds our keys. Much better huh?
I also found this old mirror for $4.00. I immediately knew this puppy had potential.

I am pretty happy with the way they turned out! I had such a great day because I was so excited about getting these projects finished!

Great finds. I love remaking something into something so much better. you go girl. I am jealous of your vacation to Hawaii. That sounds and looks like it was a blast. Too bad you were hubby less but Hawaii is hawaii with or without your man!right? Amazing!
...and I thought there wasn't a creative bone in your body! You wanted nothin' to do with crafting till you got married, and look at you now! (very cute stuff, by the way!) ...and you should go into photography... you took some darling pics of Noah -- I must have them all!

adorable! i love it. you always inspire me to get busy and craft something again. thanks.
k, i love the key holder, i want you to make me one. and good idea for the mirror, that is totally how i got my clock in my house, five dollar ugly thing with a pioneer wagon on it, so i took it home and painted it all up and it looks so chic, you've made me remember to try that first before spending lots of money. that should give me something to do while i am depressed. i want to see the rest of your apartment. do you have more pics?
So stinkin cute! You may have to find me some and remake them! You are so crafty!!!
It's official..... I'm jealous of your talents! Please can you teach me.. I think My house is cute but then I see all the cute thing you do.... and it puts my house to shame!
p.s. looks like you had a GREAT time in HAWAII!
sorry... it's Nicole Thompson!!! :)
super cute! i would never think something like that had potential. Way to go!
Great transformations! We will just call you Mrs. HGTV.
Hey crafty! I love the finds. Way to go Martha Stewart. So cute. Oh so glad you had a great time in Hawaii. As if you could have a horrible time there.
You should host a show on HGTV or something...you'd be perfect!
You're so awesome! I'm lucky if i even get something up on my wall. And if i do it will sit there for years and years until one day i realize it's horribly ugly. Then i'll take it down and i'm back to bare walls. It's the vicious cycle of an untalented person!!
Love your blog, and I love all the great creative stuff you've done to all those thrifty finds! Someone's trash is another person's treasure. Keep up the great work! Cheers,
