The boys

Carli had Hayley take pictures of the boys when we were in Utah. They turned out so cute, thanks Hay!

Yesterday

Sara and I went to this cute store in old town called two little monkeys. They always have such unique stuff and usually I can't go in without (Sadly) taking something home. Yesterday it was this...

A bottle pet. Noah is a bit confused by it and has been crossing his eyes to check it out while he's drinking. I think it's so funny... and clever. See the other animal options HERE.

Loving

They have such great deals, especially right now for their grand opening such as $.98 for strawberries, grapes, and green peppers. Can't beat that. They have really yummy (And huge) English muffins too!

Couch pillows

I never really loved my old couch pillows, they just weren't me. So today I (Finally) decided to spiff them up! With the help of some random but stylish kid in the store (Not an employee) I was able to find some way cute fabric. I'm happy with the finished look and it definitely brightens up the room!

Learning new skills

I have a girlfriend who has her hair colored by me and her extensions done by someone else, because the other stylist has created her own "Special" way of applying extensions. I looked them over, thought it out, then tried it on Liv, my faithful doll head (Whom Dave HATES) and surprisingly it turned out awesome. I have been trained to do Racoon hair extensions which are bonded using a resin. The new way I just learned (Or taught myself) uses micro beads and the extensions are sewn on top. The picture below is Brittany Lyons (Lynn's sister) we did a full head of Racoon extensions.

It's really fun doing extensions because you can completely transform the way someone looks. I'm excited to try this "New" way on a real person!

1950's recipe books

Since my Grandfather's passing I've received some totally awesome stuff. I got to rummage through my Grandparents house and take whatever I wanted! I got some sweet retro plates with green flowers (But my brother in law said "They're not retro, they're old") Thanks Sean. I got a new (But old, but good) Bernina sewing machine, a kitchen scale, hankies, sheets, pots and pans, too much to mention. But one of my fav's is the recipe books. I found a tiny Betty Crocker "Bisquick party book" that says on the front "97 gay new ideas and recipes", boy how times have changed! They actually have some really good recipes and the pictures are hilarious!

8.19.08

I love Fall. I love the beautiful changing colors, the temperature, and the smell outside. I love how I can pull out my long sleeve shirts, scarfs, and Ugg boots. I love Fall food like warm apple cake, pumpkin pie, and candy corns. So ready to use two blankets rather then one. I have high hopes it will arrive soon.

LinkIn celebration of Dave's new job we decided to treat ourselves to some really good hot dogs at Pinks. It was such a nice night in Hollywood and such yummy food!

The ride up

1st big event...

DJ (My little brother) decided to get creative with his razor and shaved off his eyebrows! So I helped him out and gave him some new "Shapely" eye brows, thanks to the help of my Anastasia brow express palette.

2nd event...

The razors. Sean (My brother in law) took us up Springville canyon all the way to Daniels summit, where we washed our DIRTY faces in their public bathrooms, had lunch, and bought Noah some of these sweet slippers.

Getting ready. Sean's sweet truck and trailer.

Oh my gosh we got SO dirty. And for some reason it was only Dave and I. We laughed so hard.

Utah has puffy clouds. We don't see those much in the OC. We were about 100 yards from our car when we discovered 2 huge trees had fallen and blocked our way out. But no fear... Sean used his Razor and a mini saw (Pretty much a knife) and dug us out. It was so exciting. A fun day I will never forget!

3rd event...

The sewing chest. This used to be my Grandmothers and (Lucky me) I inherited it, my Mom and I decided it needed a makeover. First step, sanding. Thank you Dave for you mad sanding skills. Before:

After:

And for the yellow paint:

Then for the finishing touch we added some brown stain. To make it look old and worn. You would never guess this baby was particle board would you? Thanks Momma for all you help!

I am totally excited about this chest for this reason:

It hides everything but opens to this. It even raises and lowers the sewing machine with hydraulics. Now... how am I going to get it to California? There's the big question.

The trip also included...

Homemade pizza and rootbeer

Cherry dips from DQ

Dirty feet

And lot's of sleeping in, usually 'till 10am. Love it.

On vacation... again

This time Dave got to come too! Dave got a job (Which we are totally excited about) and starts Friday so we decided to take a last minute trip to Utah. We have been eating lots of good food, hanging out with friends and family, and enjoying the Summer Olympics. How awesome was the USA mens gymnastics team last night? Taking the bronze medal, so great.
Dave, My Mom, and I have been busy today re-finishing my new (But old) sewing desk that I inherited from my grandmother. It's going to be so cute, I'll post pictures soon.

Grandpa Hall's funeral

My very talented mom and her friend Michelle made these pendants with vintage photos of my grandparents for all the daughters. One side Ida rose, the other Tracy. Together forever.

4th anniversary

Dave and I have decided that rather then getting each other anniversary gifts we will just treat ourselves to a fabulous dinner. Last year we went to the #1 stake house in California, LG's. Since Dave was so busy with the Bar this year I made reservations at La Fondue, voted most romantic and special occasion dining in Orange County. It was delicious and romantic. The atmosphere of the restaurant was so amazing. Happy 4 years Dave, I love you so very much.
