Tip of the day

I hate spiders. I also hate killing them because it's scary. So I have the most wonderful tip for killing spiders outdoors or in your garage. Spray glue. Yesterday I was watering our awesome new garden and not just one, but two (Huge) black widows came crawling out to say hello. So I ran inside, grabbed the spray glue and glued them to death. The glue freezes them so they can't move and then they die. Try this next time.

How to freezer paper stencil

I have had SO many people leave me their email address wanting direction on freezer paper stenciling. So I have decided to post directions. To make you will need:

Freezer paper
Exacto knife
Fabric paint
Paint brushes
Iron

First print out a picture of what you want to paint on the shirt, bag, onesie etc. (I got my pictures online) the more simple the picture, the more simple to cut out. Trace on non wax side of freezer paper and cut out using exacto knife. You will need to figure out which space will be negative and positive depending on what your picture looks like. After it's completely cut out iron the wax side of the freezer paper to the fabric, making sure all edges are sealed. Paint desired color, let sit until dry, and peel. Iron again after paper is removed to set paint.

Ever since Noah arrived I have taken a serious interest in making things. Lucky for me I am surrounded in talented and inspirational people who want to create as a group, learn from one another, and share individual talents. My girlfriend told me the other day she has never made a quilt before and doesn't think she has the patience. So when I host "Not your mama's craft night"we are going to be making Doll quilts. Quick, handmade, and full of personality. They are so cute when you join a group of them together hanging above a bed, kitchen table, your living room couch, or covering an entire wall.

Alicia and John's wedding

One of my best girlfriends got married on Valentines day and I had the opportunity to do her hair. The night before the wedding she stayed at the Surf and sand resort in Laguna beach so that's where we got her ready the morning of the wedding. All I can say about the hotel is BEAUTIFUL! It was right over the water, the hotel actually puts ear plugs next to the bed just in case the waves keep you up! Alicia is so gorgeous so it wasn't hard to make her look good for her wedding. She was really relaxed and calm. I did Alicia's hair, 4 bridesmaids and the flower girls hair, so I was beat by the end of the day! It was a gorgeous day and I feel so lucky to have been a part of her special day!

Finally... Christmas at the Booths

We had to postpone Christmas with Dave's family until now because one of our nephews had the chicken pox! So it was kind of a Valentines/Christmas! Cathy made some awesome chicken enchiladas, Mike made salsa (Yum as always), and Yvette made Mexican rice. Poor Cathy kept up ALL her decorations just so she could get a picture of Noah in front of the tree! She is going to have to dust everything before she puts it away this year! Noah got hooked up.... 9 pairs of pants, 4 shirts, socks and toys!

Craft night

My girlfriend Carrie started a "Not your mama's craft night" to be held once a month. We had our first last night, it was so much fun. There were only 4 of us but it was a blast. We did freezer paper stencils. It's pretty addicting. We were up until about 11pm crafting away. If any of you live in the are and want to join us next month let me know! Kelly will be hosting March.

Our weekend

Super bowl Sunday we went to Big Shawn and Darcy's house. Those two always throw a good party. While there, Noah met Miles for the first time. They really hit it off and then they shared pacifiers.

We also got a bike seat this weekend so Noah and I can enjoy the beautiful weather together. I love it, I put on my ipod, strap Noah in and forget about all my worries. It's great. And could Noah look any more darling in his helmet?

On the move

Noah can totally crawl. He chases the cat, chews on our shoes, pulls out the diapers, and pretty much gets into everything. It is so fun but a lot more work, I can't just leave him anymore. He has taken an interest in the stairs the past couple days. Probably because thats where the cat goes when he is trying to escape. It's crazy how fast the grow!

Noah has the longest toes. They are so cute.
