Sara's birthday

Happy birthday Sara! In celebration we went shopping and out to dinner at Victoria gardens for her birthday. The best part of the night was when we finished eating and I spotted an eyebrow salon, not just any brow salon, they specialize in threading. Theresa and me first decided to have it done, then Lynn joined in and then everyone ended up doing it, even the birthday girl who had never done anything to her eyebrows! Sara said it felt like a fine tooth comb being rubbed (Aggressively) on her skin. We were all laughing so hard, it was really random. What a fun night, thanks for all the laughs girls!

He will be missed

I am going to miss our sweet prophet. He was such a great man and such a wonderful leader. I am grateful to him for all his hard work in the church and for all his inspiring words and actions. We are really going to miss him!

CMB

I was watching American Idol tonight and a guy on there reminded me of someone I once met. It brought back a HILARIOUS memory and I thought it would be perfect to share on my blog. This is totally TRUE. Okay do you remember the band Color me badd? Well, they were awesome. Anyway my Dad used to work at a ski resort in Park city where they would have concerts all the time, and lucky for me my favorite band, Color me badd just happened to be coming to town. So of course my dad being the sweetest and smartest man in town, he got us tickets. I think it was the day before the show Carli and I decided to make a poster for Kevin (Yes the black one) and on that poster I put my name, phone number and address. Can you even believe my parents let me take this? I can remember what I wore to the concert, jeans and a dark green button up shirt with ducks on it... hot. So when the show was all said and done we waited around for the band to leave, we waited and waited, and then I saw him. Carli pushed me into the HUGE body guard and he said "Stay back" but Kevin said "No let her through" Then he put his arm around me, took the poster and kissed me on the forehead! NO JOKE! I totally know Color me badd! Admit it, you're jealous. Thats not all. About 2 weeks later HE CALLED ME! It was a Sunday morning, we were getting ready for church and my dad answered. He said "Is Chelsey there?" in a very low voice, my dad said "Who is this?" thinking it's some pervert and hung up on him! He called back and immediately said "this is Kevin from Color me badd" my Dad came running in and gave me the phone, I was so nervous I could barely talk. He said he wanted to thank me for the poster and that he was going to send me some autographs in the mail. That was one good day. Nothing ever came in the mail, I'm still waiting.
We also went to a Nelson concert, remember the twins who wore spandex? No such luck meeting them.

Sick

We are such sickies over here! All 3 of us. Noah has a terrible cough, runny nose, and a sore throat (I am guessing by the way he cries), I have a cough and runny nose. Dave is congested with a cough. It's the worst when your baby is sick because they don't eat or sleep normal so everything gets all messed up! We are going on 4 days of this now and none of us seem to be getting better! Noah has gotten pro at making booger bubbles. Beautiful. Everyone stay away, you don't want to catch this one!

Can't wait

I came home to the sweetest surprise ever today! On the fridge was a ticket to Hawaii for this coming April. It's going to be Jen and Alyssa, Noah and me, and of course Ben, Lynn, Avery and Miles. I am SO excited! I have never been to Hawaii but can't wait to go! Dave can't go because he has to finish school, isn't he so sweet to send us off without him? You are seriously the best! Now I gotta get working on my abdominals!

Just like old times

Brooke and Her family came to visit! Her in-laws took the whole family to Disneyland so I decided to join in! We had lunch, talked, laughed, and went on Screamin, it was so fun. I love catching up with old friends!

And just in case you were wondering Noah is still super cute and still not crawling!

Something new

My first quilt. It may have taken me 3 years, but hey I got it finished!

I have always loved Amy Butler's fabrics. Actually my very first quilt was made entirely of her first line "Gypsy Caravan" it's very me, very bright, I love it. She has a new line coming out in April called "Midwest Modern" and I decided to post a few pictures of the prints I am going to need in my life. To see the new line for yourself click HERE.

Not a happy camper

Today was Noah's 9 month doctor appointment and I must say that it was the worst one yet. First they had to prick his finger to check to see if he is enimic (He's not) then they did a tuberculosis test. Have any of your babies had this check? It's terrible! They use a needle and poke them on their arm between their hand and elbow. My (Stupid) nurse poked him and he pulled away so she had poke him again (He was screaming) then... they didn't take record of whether or not he had had his second flu shot so they decided to give him another one just in case. Then he was really freaking out screaming! Luckily it is over. Now I am dreading his 12 month appointment when they have to take his blood, I'll let Dave do that one!

Best sister ever

Just to brighten my day Carli sent me these!

What an awesome sister! Aren't they pretty? Well it's finalized and decided that we are staying here in California. We feel that at least for the next year the job opportunities are better and when we think of leaving our ward and area we just feel like we havn't been here long enough. I have been a bit emotional about it the past couple days because I guess reality set in. I know I will be happy wherever we go, I just wish we could be closer to my family. Luckily my family loves Disneyland and their season passes keep them coming often! So while we're here we're going to embrace the beach and warm weather, it may not last forever! Thanks for the flowers Car... you're the best.

Christmas 2007

Okay I know I have been such a slacker on the blog lately. I couldn't find my parents camera cord and I'll be honest it was kind of nice to take a break. We had such a fun time with my family this Christmas, we were there for almost 3 weeks so it was hard to say goodbye. I must have been a good girl last year because I got some seriously awesome gifts! I got a new Singer sewing machine (thanks guys) with almost 100 stitches and as you can see I have already put it to good use.

I got new clothes, gift cards, new pajamas, picture frames, and my own pink tool kit. Dave got some cowboy boot slippers, Laker tickets, a GPS for his car and sunglasses. Noah got lots of toys and clothes. I actually made almost everybody's gifts this year but couldn't mention what I was doing because it would ruin the surprise! I made 2 blankets, 2 quilts, an apron, 2 pillowcases, a table runner, and a pointy kitty. I don't have pictures of everything I made but I will post the ones I do have. The weather was so cold and I kept thinking to myself "How did I handle this all my life?" I have been spoiled here in Orange County. It does feel good to be back in my own house, I slept so good last night, there is nothing like being in your own bed. Right now we are trying hard to make a decision on where to live after Dave graduates in May. Law school has gone by so fast and we never thought we would be so torn. We are praying for direction and hoping to soon receive an answer.

Carli and I made a quilt for my Mom. I did this side and she did the other in bright blues, purples and browns. We had it stitched and it turned out so cute. She loved it.

I made this one for Heidi. This is before I had it stitched and when I saw it finished, I'll be honest it was so cute! I had such a hard time giving it away. But I knew she would love it.

I made this apron for Keslee. This picture bugs me because the apron needs to be pressed, but it was so easy and quick to make.

And the pointy kitty. I got this pattern from some blog and this was really hard to make! I really hope she just sets it on her shelf and stares at it. I'm worried that if she plays with it the head might fall off!

We had a really great Christmas and hope you did too!
